Model Build: Warning!!! Imperial Cruiser Inbound!

Cruiser ahead!

The first post for this model involves me with experimenting with the correct shape for the bottom of the imperial cruiser. This is because the cruiser uses a shape that can be made using a single object, however, as it does contain a layer in the middle, the shape will need to be correctly cut in order for the shape to stay to its original position once  the extrusion tool has been applied. The mood-board post has all of the other image references that I used for the correct details.
The first success appeared when the knife tool was used with which, the vertices I chose allowed for the shape to stay in the same shape and result in the lovely outline below.
As the original cruiser had side ports, it was important for me to make sure that the model had and equal amount of symmetric incisions. This is why the Boolean tool had once again played a crucial role in the building. The main area to concentrate on modelling was the bottom of the model as it would be the only side of the entire ship that would be very close to the camera. As the main body of the ship will be at a distance from the camera, this model will be more dependable on the texturing of the ship.
When I was adding the ball, I was making sure that the ball would be cut as not all of it would be needed and this would result in the unnecessary use of extra memory by the CPU.
When the tunnels were being correctly carved, there were big issues with binding the object in one. This was discovered after 3 restarts of the project as the moment this part of the operation was supposed to be done, the model would completely delete itself as the Boolean tool would incorrectly calculate place and size of the cut that was selected to be made. This was improved by doing all of the demanded changes to how the model should look at the bottom and once done, the objects were combined into one shape.

Above you can see the second to last image that was of the bottom before the finishing touches were added. However, as it is better to complete the model, I have left them on my to do list as finishing touches to be made.
